Monthly Archives: January 2014

February Update!

Wow! What a year!

It is hard to believe that in less than a month, I will have completed my first full year as a full-time staff member with Praying Pelican Missions. It’s crazy to think about how far God has brought me and all he has brought me through. 2013 was definitely one for the books. And now, here I am at the threshold of a new year. 2014. January has gone by quite quickly but it was full of blessings. Through the blessing of having a job that allows me to work from wherever I can access internet, I was able to spend a beautiful week with my best friend whom I have known for 20 years. After going to college in separate states, I can’t tell you how happy it makes me that I can once again see her so easily as she is not far away and I can spend so much time with her. God knows how much I need my best friends around me and I am continually reminded of His love each and every time I have the opportunity to hang out with them.

January also brought some new challenges to the table for me in my job. I was given my first teams to consult and plan trips. I must admit, I was a little nervous at first when I was handed a couple names and told to start consulting them. For some reason, I was afraid that I was going to screw it up and the trips would fail and I realized that that would indeed be the case if I was planning these trips on my own and within my own limited understanding. But I am not called to work within my own human limitations. I, like the rest of us, have been called to work within God’s unlimited power and grace. God has called me to a higher state of being and as long as I strive towards that lifestyle nothing I do will fail. One of my favorite verses is Romans 8:31 “What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” Because God, who is in Heaven, is for me nothing on this earth can harm me. Everything I do is safe and secure in His hands.  God has given me an amazing opportunity to not only rest in His love and grace but to share that love and grace with everyone I meet. I could not do what I do without the support and encouragement of those around me. I want to thank you for your support and prayers and ask you to continue to join with me on this crazy journey called life. I will be heading to Belize at the end of February and that will be the start of a crazy spring of traveling and leading 4+ mission trips. I can’t wait to tell you all about them! Pray for my heart and my mind to continually be focused on the one true God and pray that I continually allow myself to be challenged and stretched in ways that only God knows.

If you feel led, I ask you to consider supporting me financially. I am given a  small salary from Praying Pelican Missions ($12,000), and the opportunity to receive more based on team recruitment. This is an amazing gift that allows me to do God’s work. However, I am still in need of additional support if I am to continue following God’s call. Your financial support will go towards my personal living expenses.  It is through your faithfulness and support that I will be able to continue in the task which God has place in front of me. Below is a list of tangible ways in which you may consider supporting me,

My Monthly Living Expenses:

  1. Student Loans: Chase ($ 275.52 a month) & Gr. Lakes ($ 280.00 a month)

  2. Rent: $ 200.00 a month

  3. Car (Payment – $ 192.00 a month/ Ins – $ 42.00 a month)

  4. Gas – $40.00

Total Expenses: $1029.52

Again, I thank you for considering to support me in this way and I encourage you to either fill out the enclosed portion and email/mail it to me. I would be happy to keep you up to date on my life in any way that is easiest for you as well as know any needs that I can keep in prayer. As you explore my new website, let me know if there is something you want to see, something you want to hear about or something you don’t like! I love you all dearly and look forward to sharing this life with you. Many Blessings and Happiness to you as we begin 2014.
