Standing in awe…

Picture

I can’t believe that 2 weeks has already flown by it feels like I have been here for a long time and a short time all at once. As I was standing watching the sunrise, I couldn’t help but think aobut God has been so faithful its overwhelming. He has shown His protection and provision over and over and over again. Teams are coming and people’s lives are being changed all for the glory of God.
This past week I was privileged to work up near San Ignacio in a town called Benque (about 5 minutes from Guatemala). We worked with a church called the Bethel Worship Center (Assembly of God). There are not enough words to describe how unbelievably awesome this  church is. They are on fire for God and desire to see everyone in their community come to know the Lord. They have fantastic people in leadership who are energetic, phenomenal and so in love with the Lord that it shines through everything they do. The children’s ministry is astounding and it makes me so happy to see so many smiling faces knowing that they are growing up in the Lord, being prepared as the future leaders in their communities. I was beyond blessed to be able to work with them and count it a privilege that I can now call them friends. God is moving big time here in Belize not only through my trips but through every trip and I’m excited to see what the rest of the summer holds.

I am standing in awe of His beauty and how He is working to bring us all together as His church. It is a wonderful picture of the church described in Revelation 7:9 “After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.” I have never experienced this more than when I am standing in a church service  where people are jumping up and down worshiping God in two different languages from two different countries. God is working to bring His church together and I am humbled to be a part of it. I look forward to the day where it is not just the two countries I have fallen in love with praising the Lord but every country.
Please continue to keep myself, my fellow staff, our teams, and the country of Belize in your prayers as we serve and fight for him on the battlefield. I love you all and can not thank you enough for your support.

The Time Has Come…

It’s hard to believe that in a few short hours I will be loading up the car, driving to Pittsburgh and getting on a plane to Belize. I’ve known for months now when I would be going, for how long, etc. but it’s weird to think about how fast it has seemed to approach. I’m embarking on a summer that will be one for the books. I have an idea in my head of what that summer will be like but as I have come to realize from experience, it never quite looks the same as what I imagine it will.
I am filled with feelings of anxiousness and excitement. Constantly switching between them, not letting either of them stay for long. I am unbelievably excited to be returning to Belize and feeling blessed that I can lead summer mission teams and call it my career; but I am also plagued with anxiousness and a constant awareness that I need to be in prayer that I will not allow this to turn into simply a “job” that must be done. Please pray for my heart and mind that I will be open to an awareness and understanding of what God wants from me and that I will experience a calm and restful heart.
God has something that he wants to teach me this summer, I can feel it. He is at work. He is moving in a powerful way and I am privileged and honored to be allowed to participate in it. Please pray that I will give myself over wholeheartedly to his work and that I will give over to His will with reckless abandon. Pray for me as I will pray for you. Join me in this journey as the time has finally come…
